Love The Lord: Week 4 Take Home Sheet

November 29, 2009

Memory Verse:
“Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom.” Psalm 145:3 (NIV)

What I Learned Today:
Today we learned that God is huge enough to make the whole world, but near enough to us to know about every hair on our heads!

SPK Challenge:
Look in the mirror when you get home and pick out three unique things about the way you look that show how creative God was when He made you. Look at each of your family members and find one thing about them that makes them unique. Tell them what you see and remind them that God made them completely different from anyone else. They need to hear it, too! As you look around this week, notice all of the animals and the things in nature that show God’s creativity and how big He is. Remember to praise Him when you notice something and thank Him for showing it to you!

Love The Lord: Week 2 Take Home Sheet

November 15, 2009

I keep forgetting to pass out the Take Home Sheets, so I have deiced that I will post each weeks Take Home Sheets.

Week Two:

Memory Verse:
“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” Matthew 22:37 (NIV)

What I Learned Today:
Today we learned that one of the ways we show God we love Him is by serving Him. Our Bible story showed us that one little boy’s willingness to give up His lunch ended up being part of a huge miracle that Jesus did for over 5,000 people! (John 6:1-15) Remember that God can use whatever you give Him to do great things. He wants you to serve Him and to show Him that you love Him with your whole heart.

SPK Challenge:
On a sheet of paper, write the words “Can Do.” Beside each letter write something that’s an example of what we can do to serve God. Pick one thing from the “Can Do” list to do each day for five days. Put your “Can Do” sheet up in your room or in a place where you will see it, and remember that each time you do one of these things, you are serving the Lord and showing Him that He’s who matters most!

New Series – Love the Lord

November 2, 2009

This 13 week series is based on the songs Love the Lord by Lincoln Brewster, How Great is our God by Chris Tomlin, Living For You, Doxology, Every Move I Make, and Your Name.

Starts November 8th…

Week One: Is about loving God with our whole hearts. We want Him to be the center of our hearts and the person that we love the most!

Week Two: One of the ways we show God we love Him is by serving Him.

Week Three: God created our amazing universe, and He loves us!

Week Four: God is huge enough to make the whole world, but near enough to us to know about every hair on our heads!

Week Five: When Jesus died on the cross and gave us a chance to spend forever with Him, our lives were turned upside down, too! Now, we want to let our lights shine before others.

Week Six: We want to live for Jesus and obey Him and the other people He put in our lives.

Week Seven: Is about the ten lepers who were healed and how only one came back to praise God and say thank you. We want to be like the one leper and praise God for all of the blessings He’s given us.

Week Eight: That all of creation proclaims the glory of God – even the mountains and stars!

Week Nine: We have a choice to make with everything that happens to us each day. We can do it our way or God’s way.

Week Ten: Is all about Joseph and the hard things he went through in God’s plan for his life. The Lord was with him even during all of those hard things and actually used them for good in the end. We want to learn to see God in the hard things that happen to us, too.

Week Elven: Is all about what Jesus did exactly what His name said that He would do. He saved His people from their sins.

Week Twelve: God wanted to use Moses to do something very special. He also wants to use us. He’s the great I AM and wants us to know how holy His name is, learn from the people who’ve come before us, and tell the people who come after us that He is Lord!

Week Thirteen: This week is about the plan of salvation. It is the free gift of Jesus that was given to pay for our sins and the opportunity that this gives us to live with Jesus forever.
